PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) means any equipment intended to be worn and held by the worker in order to protect him against one or more risks likely to threaten his safety or health at work, as well as any accessory or accessory intended for that purpose .

WARNING!
PPE must be used when risks can not be avoided or sufficiently reduced by technical preventive measures, by means of collective protection, by measures, methods or procedures for reorganizing work. TITLE IV of Legislative Decree 626/94 regulates the use of personal protective equipment.
In particular, PPE must:
(a) be appropriate to the risks to be prevented, without leading to greater risk in itself; b) be adapted to the conditions existing in the workplace;
c) take into account the worker's ergonomic or health needs;
d) be able to be adapted to the user according to his needs.

In the event of multiple risks requiring the simultaneous use of more than one PPE, these must be compatible with each other and such to maintain, even in simultaneous use, its effectiveness against the risk and the corresponding risks. Workers use the PPE made available to them in accordance with the information and training received and the training that may be organized.
Workers:
a) take care of the PPE made available to them; b) do not make changes on their own initiative.

Workers report immediately to the employer or manager or to the manager any defect or inconvenience they may have detected in the PPE made available to them.
